WHEN I was growing up, Mother made these wonderful biscuits often. Some time ago, I consulted her box of old recipes and was delighted to find this childhood favorite. Now these warm and tender biscuits are a special treat for my family, too. -Catherine Yoder, Bertha, Minnesota

I found it a little too sweet. Next time I think I'd do without the sugar. As I was making it I added a little more flour because it was too moist. The texture turned out fine.

Excellent biscuits. Very short. I added a touch more sugar to make it more of a biscuit with tea.
