worst Taste of Home recipe I ever made.

Coating was pasty, would not become crisp. I even put it under the broiler for a few minutes but did not help. Yuck!

I make tilapia this way. However, I place a baking rack for cookies in a baking sheet. I spray the rack with Pam, place the fish on top, and bake as usual. The fish get cooked on both sides and have a crusty top.

A little on the salty side for me but will try it again with less garlic salt. Otherwise, easy to make and yummy. As an added bonus, it was only 3 points plus for Weight Watchers. So I got to eat two fillets!

I freeze the breadcrumbs to save for the next time. I add more crumbs parmesan cheese and spices as I need them.

Very good! My DH & I love w/ sauteed spinach (w/ mushrooms, garlic & parmesan) and microwave veggie rice pilaf - so good! My toddler loves w/ mashed potatoes!

Also, my recipe is 1/2 c Italian style bread crumbs & 1/2 c of parm. It makes it very easy when doubli g the recipe as well. And I was reading another review.. No you don't have to flip it. It really is done in 10 min & is very very good!

I have a recipe almost the same as this one. I read the reviews & wanted to advise: Do not dip in eggwash! It is not part of the recipe bc it is not necessary. I put the crumb mix in a one-gallon ziplock bag & gently toss the fish one at a time to coat. Yes there will be extra bread crumbs. Here's what you do: line a cookie sheet with foil. Spray with non stick spray. Place the coated fish on the pan, spray lightly with butter spray or butter flavor cooking spray. Sprinkle te remaining crumbs over the fish. They should be completely covered. Lightly spray again. Then bake. You get a layer of light crust on top & it's delicious! I make this regularly for my family & my two young kids LOVE it! ..P.S. I think the only difference in my recipe is that I use reg. salt but add Adobo & a little garlic Powder.

I've never baked fish before. Would this be baked on the middle rack? Does it need to be baked on BOTH sides, requiring the filets to be turned half-way through the baking cycle? Thanks for any help given.

This dish is very easy to make and sure doesn't take much time. I did think it was just a little bland but overall good. I would definitely make again and maybe add a little something or serve with a sauce. I used frozen tilapia fillets and it worked well. Someone mentioned it was too salty with the garlic salt so I used half garlic salt and half garlic powder; however I found I needed to salt my fish a litle. I had no trouble getting the crumb mixture to stick. I rinsed the fillets in water first before coating. No need to use an egg or any oil. My family enjoyed this recipe.

Love, love, love this recipe!!! Along with my family. Already have made it again. Even better, since there is not any eggs used to bread them, you can save the bread crumbs (shortly)

This was wonderful, my entire family gobbled it right up! Such an easy recipe for a weeknight. Will definitely make again!

I agree: yummy. I altered the recipe a bit by drizzling the fillets with unsalted butter. I mixed up the seasoning in a custard cup using garlic powder, oregano, a couple dashes of sea salt, and the Parmesan. I sprinkled that over the fish and baked. Squeezed lime juice on it and devoured. Great and easy, too.

I would cut garlic salt in half. Much too salty.

That was terrific! We will definitely serve this recipe again.

Ohh, and I used an egg (beaten) to help the crumbs stick to it. I think the person who submitted this forgot to mention that. Otherwise the crubs wont stick. Otherwise, loved it!

The recipe was awesome! Very easy, fast and delicious. I substituted the bread crumbs with Panko to make the fish nice and light and it was delicous. My family will be making this again soon.

Quite tasty. I also brushed some olive oil on the fish to help the coating stick. I sprinkled a little kosher salt on it too before dipping it in the coating. Squeezing a little lime juice on it after it cooked was a nice addition too.

I brushed the fish with olive oil to help the breading to stick. This recipe was easy and delicious. My husband (not a fish fan) loved it.

my husband and i both loved the recipe - and i don't usually like fish. i used a little olive oil on the tilapia to make the crumb mixture stick. the flavor was great. it was a little salty so i might use garlic powder instead of garlic salt next time.

I wasn't disappointed by this one, especially considering the glowing reviews. First, I had a hard time getting the soft bread crumbs to stick to the fish, even though I sprayed both sides with butter spray beforehand like another reviewer recommended. Second, it was pretty tasteless. I had pretty thick filets of tilapia, so maybe that's why, but I had to drizzle some butter and squeeze lemons over it to make it less bland. I wouldn't make this one again.

The mixture was greater than I needed to coat the fish. I would cook it at least 12 minutes or more next time so that the fish was crispier.

This is a quick and easy recipe that's delicious. The only change I made was to use butter spray on the fish before coating it. The butter allows the breadcrumbs to stick better. You can also use pre-seasoned breadcrumbs to make it even quicker.

Wonderful recipie. So easy and tasty. I omitted the garlic salt and added just a little garlic powder instead, eliminating the salt altogether. Definately would make it over and over again!

I made this last night, and it was even better than I expected it to be!

So easy! While I had the tilapia thawing in the sink, I was able to use the chopper to make the soft bread crumbs. It takes about 1 1/2 pieces of bread. It was fantastic!
