"This is one of our favorite ham recipes," writes Marilou Robinson of Portland, Oregon. It will feed a crowd, or use what's remaining in two recipes Marilou also offers here. "No one groans about ham leftovers when these items are on the menu," she adds.

The spiral ham was incredibly moist and the flavor of the broth and onion, along with the red wine, made the ham very flavorful and also made delicious gravy. This is now my go to recipe for ham.

This is a spiral ham recipe I would definitely make again. The onions and chicken broth added so much to the ham. And the broth combined with the ham juices at the end made an excellent gravey.

I laid the ham on its side for the first hour, but then decided I'd better stand it on end or it would really dry out. Still turned out good.
