Baked Oatmeal Recipe

My mom liked this recipe because it was quick and easy and made enough to fill up all seven of us hungry kids. Now I prepare it for my own family of five.—Kathy Smith, Butler, Indiana

We all loved this recipe. It's a great way to get my kiddos to eat oatmeal. I followed the recipe the first time, and the next time i cut the sugar in half as well as the oil and added fruit. The kids thought it was great either way.

I made this at least twice a week for my family of 6. These are the changes that I make for a healthier version. First, I use rolled oats, not quick cooking. I use grade B maple syrup instead of sugar (both kinds), I cut the salt in half, I add 4 cut up apples and 2 tsp. of cinnamon. My family LOVES this!!

I make this all the time and my kids love it! I 1/2 it for one 13x9 pan and I have taken to adding 1 t cinnamon and sometimes cutting back a bit on the oil. One of my most requested recipes from the fam.

This has been one of my family's favorite "snow day" recipes. It has also now become part of our breakfast program at the school where I am Food Service Director

664 calories and 32 grams of fat? This recipe is a nightmare.

If you feed this to you kids, it's about 50% of their daily calorie requirement.
