Baked Bean Side Dish Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 can (28 ounces) baked beans, drained
  • 1 medium tart apple, peeled and chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 3 Wright® Brand Bacon strips, diced

Directions

  • In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Transfer to a greased 11-in. x 7-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with bacon. Cover and bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Uncover; bake 25-30 minutes longer or until bubbly and beans reach desired thickness. Yield: 7 servings.

Editor's Note: Wear disposable gloves when cutting hot peppers; the oils can burn skin. Avoid touching your face.

These beans were simply amazing! Loved the unique addition of apples and raisins... Already thinking of making them again next weekend! I had one guest go for seconds even before she had finished her first helping!
