Bacon Cheeseburger Spaghetti Recipe

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces uncooked spaghetti
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
  • 2/3 cup chopped onion
  • 6 slices ready-to-serve fully cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1-1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup chopped dill pickles
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup prepared mustard
  • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  • Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the bacon, ketchup, pickles, barbecue sauce and mustard. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Drain spaghetti; stir into meat mixture.
  • Sprinkle with cheese. Remove from the heat; cover and let stand until cheese is melted. Yield: 6 servings.

Nutritional Facts 1-1/3 cups equals 567 calories, 20 g fat (11 g saturated fat), 77 mg cholesterol, 2,026 mg sodium, 63 g carbohydrate, 4 g fiber, 32 g protein.

So I normally don't rate recipes, but I made this for supper tonight. I just ate like about 3 bites of it. I hated it. I made it for my family also and they didn't like it either. It just is thick and gross. I am pretty good at making almost anything, but this will definitely be a never again.

My husband hated it, and both grandsons 5 and 11 didn't like either. Way to much BBQ sauce. If I make this again I would reduce the BBQ sauce, ketchup and pickles. gjk

Loved this! Others with problems with sweetness try a different type of bbq sauce. I used extra meat and pasta, and already cooked crumbled bacon. Next time I will sprinkle the bacon on top of the cheese, I think it will save the bacon flavor more, it kind of got lost in the bbq and ketchup sauce. I did not increase the amount of sauce to match the extra meat and pasta and it was just right, not too saucy/soupy. Adding this to the regular rotation for sure!

Kids loved it :) I added dill relish instead of pickles, and cooked my own bacon. Only complaint was that it's slightly greasy. Next time I will cook beef in one skillet then switch to a new pan. Also drain bacon really well. Thanks for the quick meal idea!

I LOVED this! I am not a fan of mustard, but I still put it in, although not as much as it called for. I think the combination of mustard and pickles is complimentary. I added seasonings, like I would anytime I cook hamburger meat too. I also used twice as much meat, so mine was not soupy, but just right! I can't wait to have it again. I may adjust to make in the crockpot.

A little on the sweet side, even though we used 1/2 cup dill relish, and 1/2 cup sweet relish. For sure will use all dill relish next time. We doubled the bacon, but instead of using ready to cook bacon, we diced regular bacon, fried with the onion until cooked through, then adding groud turkey instead of the hamburger. We will be making this recipe again, but everyone agreed that we will cut down on the sweetness, by adding something a little spicy. We will be trying this with Chili beans and a little chili powder for an added kick. Feeding 3 boys, and 2 adults, we feel using the beans as a "filler food" will allow for extra leftovers for lunch, which works really well considering the kids are off for the summer.

I made this recipe for my husband and my side of our family. I was a little leery about it, but it got rave reviews. I really liked how unexpected the flavors were. I did omit the mustard and the pickles because I am a fan of neither. All in all, I loved it.

This was a fantastic recipe! I wasn't expecting much from it, but I was really impressed. It was definitely heavy on the sauce, so I would cut back on that. Maybe as much as half. This was a unique, fun recipe. Great way to change up the pace. I will alter it and make it healthier when I make it next. It would be perfect as is (only lighter on the sauce) for a fun 4th of July recipe!

I used Weber's horseradish mustard, American cheese slices and freshly cooked bacon as substitutes. Oh, and I didn't have the pickles so I omitted them.

Way too much of the ketchup, mustard and bbq sauce going on in this. If I were to make it again I'd cut way down on those. But, I have another similar recipe that I like more.

This was an excellent recipe, though I might suggest omitting the pickles. Great flavor, the bacon ties it all together. The family expects me to make this every two weeks!
