My husband and I thought the original skillet dish lacked pizzazz, so we created this tastier version. I've had teenage nieces and nephews request the recipe after their first bite. —Joyce Whipps, West Des Moines, Iowa

Made this last night - it's a great idea and was an easy recipie to make, but it's not something that I would make again - I think that it needed a bit of salt added and maybe more barbeque sauce.

Easy to make. I like it better w/o pickles. This dish has bold flavor

Extremely delicious, quick and easy to make. An absolute instant favorite. I did use finely chopped fresh onion.

Another winner for my picky family! I use a spicy bbq sauce - love the combination of sweet bbq sauce and tangy pickles!

This was delicious and a great way to do something different with ingredients probably everyone has on hand. I used real chopped onion instead of minced. I used a spicy brown mustard instead of regular. I also cooked the minute rice in beef broth separately then added it to the skillet b/c I thought 2 cups of rice would be too much. I ended up adding 1 cup cooked rice (in broth). It was fabulous. The crunch of the bacon and pickles really makes it.

I used turkey bacon and it was a pleasant substitute. I also substituted dill pickle relish instead of the chopped dill pickles. (Notice it's NOT sweet pickle relish) I thought this dish was very easy to make, it had a very good flavor. With the 3 cups of instant rice it was a bit dry for our taste buds, so I would probably cut back to 2 - 2 1/2 cups minute rice. This should keep the texture a little more moist. I used Famous Dave's Rich & Saucy when I made this.

Made this last night and then served leftovers over shredded lettuce and tomato slices. Delish!!! I used ground turkey and instant brown rice for a healthy swap and will definitely make it again!!

Love this recipe so do my kids. I do cut down on the barbecue sauce but replace it with ketchup.Maybe only about 1/4 cup. Make it all the time.

Great weeknight dinner! Unique flavor, but we enjoyed it! Loved the crunch of the pickles, totally different than anything else I've made. I used long grain brown rice and just added more water and increased the cooking time.

It sounded good for something diffferent but I am not quite sure everything flowed together. I wish I knew which barbecque sauce they used. The bacon and the pickles added a strange crunch that didn't seem to go with the texture of the rest of it, but the flavor wasn't too bad just not what I was expecting I guess. Or maybe the rice didn't fit in it.... I couldn't really decide. Just different....

This was an easy recipe. It took me more like 45 min. to prepare and cook. It has a wonderful taste to it. It looks like it is going to be dry when you start eating it but its really not! No extra sauce needed!! I will make this again.
