You only need a few ingredients to create this sweet and peppery chicken. The subtle flavor of apple makes this tender barbecue dish stand out from the rest. Darla Andrews - Farmers Branch, Texas

Applesauce barbecue chicken is delicious and definitely a keeper. My family loves it and we make it any time we have all the ingredients.

healthy, quick, and tasty! teenager approved. Can't wait to try it with grilled chicken this summer.

I think this would be even better with some apple slices or some diced up apple.

This was good and easy to make. I substituted my own barbecue sauce recipe in place of the spicy barbecue sauce since I have a 2 year old. I also doubled the amount of applesauce, barbecue sauce, and brown sugar. My very picky 2 year old loved it! He ate every last bite!

I didn't have chunky applesauce for this recipe so I added chunks of a Granny Smith apple as well as a left over carmelized onion. My teenage son's loved this recipe! It was very quick and easy to make too!~Pat~

This is so good, and so easy. I don't handle spicy too well so I got a spicy honey bbq sauce. It wasn't too spicy at all. I've made this more than once.

We had this dish for dinner couple nights ago. It was very very good. We "toned down" the chili powder. Will certainly make again.
