I made this last night, and we really enjoyed this recipe! I used no-sugar applesauce (the non-chunky kind), and Sweet Baby Ray's Original BBQ Sauce. We don't like things very spicy, so I only added 1/4 tsp chili powder. I also browned it on the stove, and baked it in the oven at 350 for about 20-25 minutes, as some other reviewers did. I shredded the remaining chicken breasts last night in the sauce, and am making pulled bbq chicken sandwiches tonight. I'll be making this again!

A little too tangy for my taste.

I made this for the first time tonight , I didn't have chunky applesauce but it still turned out good using regular applesauce.

I think I will try to make it again sometime when I have the right kind of applesauce.

Oh my! This dish was absolutely full of flavor. I had four very large chicken breasts so I baked in the oven at 350 degrees for 50 mins. I used Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet and Spicy BBQ sauce. The taste was awesome and the chicken came out so moist, you could cut it with a fork. A Keeper....

This chicken was awesome. Made it tonite along with the garlic parmesan orzo and the broccoli side dish recipie (also from this website). I also didn't have chunky applesauce so I took the advice of another and cut up a small apple and mixed in with regular applesaue. I browned the chicken on the stove but instead of finishing to cook it on the stove I decided to put it in a 350 degree oven and baked it the rest of the time which was about 20 mins. It really absorbed the flavors of the sauce. The six of us in my family really liked the flavor.

I used chicken thighs and cooked these in a crock pot for 7 hours on low then shredded. Amazing

Yummy! I used regular applesauce and cut up a medium sized gala apple with the sauce. I only used about 2/3-3/4 teaspoon of chili powder because I was afraid it might be too spicy for my 2 and 5 year old. But it didn't seem spicy at all to me. I definitely make again!

Quick and easy! I've used it with both chicken breast and pork chops in the oven and on the stove top. I'm thinking about using it in a slow cooker next. It is a wonderfully tasty sauce!

My husband requests this all the time! We did find that there is no need for the brown sugar though. We use Mott's chunky applesauce and Kraft Thick and Spicy BBQ sauce, those are plenty sweet enough!

This recipe was delicious and soo easy to make. I couldn't find chunky applesauce, so I used regular applesauce & diced up some fresh gala apples which was delicious! Definitely a recipe to make when you're trying to impress or pressed for time! :) Definitely a keeper!

A) This was so easy and fast to make. B) After trying the sauce my husband said "We can have it on pork and beef and turkey and venison..." It was a hit, will definitely be making again.

I was wrong...I used Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet & Spicy BBQ Sauce!

The sauce on this is delicious. I have used it with chicken tenders and boneless pork chops. I used Sticky Fingers spicy & sweet bbq sauce.

This was amazing. I made it just as written and it was terrific. I paired it with the New Potatoes with Dill. Great meal. Everyone loved it.

I made as described but with 1/2 teaspoon chili powder and a regular barbecue sauce. My wife thought it was too spicy, It was about right for me. Overall a very nice flavor.

very fast---very tasty. I used boneless, skinless chicken thighs (preference), did not use brown sugar and still sweet enough, did not use chili powder. Very good, can't wait to try it with pork. Probably will try in crock pot if I make a larger quantity. Very tasty!!

I actually did mine in the oven, as I didn't feel like standing over the stove to brown the meat; it turned out super, no leftovers of this dish!!

I'll be fixing this recipe soon but only have regular barbecue sauce. What spice can I add to make it spicy? Thanks.

We decided to have pork chops instead of chicken today but were pleased. We would make it again with the chicken. We served with sweet potato & roasted asparagus (topped with toasted sesame seeds). Yum!!

Made this for my family (and my very picky son) and it was a true hit! The flavor is very good and it kept the chicken very moist. I can see this sauce being used on pork chops, ribs, drumsticks, etc. and it being a 'go-to' sauce because of its ease to make. Great recipe! I also like that it is low in sodium per serving. Big hit!!

I think this would be even better with some apple slices or some diced up apple.

This was good and easy to make. I substituted my own barbecue sauce recipe in place of the spicy barbecue sauce since I have a 2 year old. I also doubled the amount of applesauce, barbecue sauce, and brown sugar. My very picky 2 year old loved it! He ate every last bite!

This is so good, and so easy. I don't handle spicy too well so I got a spicy honey bbq sauce. It wasn't too spicy at all. I've made this more than once.
