This is a great way to enjoy the taste of apple pie without the guilt. The cute golden bundles are shaped from a homemade yeast dough, but it's their old-fashioned flavor that really appeals. Sharon Martin of Terre Hill, Pennsylvania

These were very good and surprisingly easy to make. I will use a better baking apple next time so the apples are really soft, but it was still good with some firmness to the apples. I used cinnamon sugar to sprinkle over them after brushing with milk. I think a powdered sugar frosting glaze would also be excellent drizzled over the tops. This is a nice alternative to apple pie and much healthier than my pie recipes! Thanks!

This is a wonderful and easy recipe. My fiance absolutely loves these, it's a tasty treat that is easy to make and won't set you back on calories, yum!

Everyone I have made these for think they are amazing! I add more fall spices and I use more apples. 5 cups works well. I top them with whipped cream or ice cream. Yummy!

This is a family recipe called Apple Prieska. Only we use a pie crust dough instead of a yeast dough. My dad likes to sprinkle it with Brown Sugar.

Wow; these look awesome! However, I still don't deem them to be too healthy, although they are light. Has anyone tried to make these whole wheat? Can you sub the butter with applesauce or oil or something to lower the saturated fats and cholesterol? Maybe, could we reduce the sodium?

I made a glaze with a little maple flavoring added to drizzle on mine. That was very good with the apples. They sure don't taste low fat.

I made several of these and found the squares to be way too small I made mine 6x6 and it was perfect size. Everyone loved these served with vanilla ice cream. Marie

I made these for my 10 yr old gradnson, and he ate 4 right away, and then asked if I had any plans for the rest, or could he take them home.!! He took them home.

I made these for our morning break, for our group of volunteers who are building a house lost in a fire two years ago. The "weight watchers" in the group couldn't believe the low calorie, low fat treat. Everyone loved them and requested them again!

My whole family loved them so much, that they ate everyone of them the same day they were made. I tried a smaller version on my second batch by cutting the 4 in square into 4-2in squares and made mini pockets. I also chopped the apples into smaller pieces. These were easy and I have a lot of ideas for fillings. :)

My mother made these when I was growing up. Her normal recipe called for cabbage, onions and hamburger. My sister wouldn't eat them, so my mother substituted apples. She never used a recipe, but what she made was very similar to these.
