This originally started as an apple cake recipe. But I worked it into a recipe for cookies and have been making them this way ever since. It's a nice way to feature fall's delicious produce.

These cookies are awsome!!!! I would add a little more apple to it but other than that it was a huge hit with the family. This is going to be a cookie I'll be making all fall long!

I make an awesome apple cake & was looking for an apple cookie. Unfortunately, these cookies are just okay. I think the problem is that the apple pieces (which I cut quite small) do not bake long enough in a cookie. Will not make these again.

I made these for my family and they loved them! I have been asked to make them again for our Christmas party. They were such a hit.

These cookies were just great. I have made them 3 or 4 times. This last time I tripled the recipe. I finely chopped pecans instead of walnuts. We liked them better. I've had people tell me that this was the best cookie they have ever tasted. We put them in the freezer and when we take them out, they are still soft. I do add just a little more cinnamon. People told me the name should be Apple Cinnamon cookies. Whatever the name, they are GREAT tasting. Thanks for the recipe.

I thought these were delicious. I added an extra egg to my mixture and they turned out fine. I also dusted them with powder sugar after I took them out of the oven. Family really enjoyed them!

These were Awesome, I didn't have shorting, so used butter instead. They turned out alot flatter than the picture (more like regular cookies), but more cake like, and were really yummy!

I made these to start my "Fall" baking. They are wonderful! Easy to make and easy to eat...I just hope there's enough for the kids when they get home from school:)
