SERVINGS: 6-8

CATEGORY: Dessert

METHOD: Baked

TIME: Prep: 10 min. Bake: 40 min. + cooling

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups cubed peeled baking apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 unbaked pastry shell (9 inches)
  • TOPPING:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter

Directions:

In a bowl, combine first five ingredients; spoon into pie shell. For topping, combine sugar and flour; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over pie.

Delicious! I've made several batches of just the pie filling, and have frozen them in individual pie plates. Once frozen, I move the frozen pie filling into a freezer bag for storage. Can't wait to make apple pies this fall!
