Apple Cider Beef Stew Recipe

Apple Cider Beef Stew Recipe Apple Cider Beef Stew Recipe photo by Taste of Home Rating 4

I created this slow cooker recipe using convenience products to save time chopping vegetables and browning beef. Apple cider and cinnamon are the unique additions that give a down-home flavor to this oh-so-easy and economical stew. It also makes a rich, flavorful potluck dish for holiday gatherings or on busy school nights. —Margaret Wilson, Sun City, California

Made this recipe for a church supper and had rave reviews. Even folks who don't care for stew thought it was delicious! Love how the cinnamon comes through

Haven't made this yet but can't wait to do so. I agree with sg24fan, the McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning is fabulous; it makes for wonderful hamburgers!

Everone liked it. The sweetness gave it a wonderful surprise from regular stew.

I made this last night and let it cook overnight. It woke me up at 3am with its enticing smell! It is so easy and makes for a great fall time lmal with the cinnamon/apple flavor.

I have made this several times and it is always a hit. The combination of ingredients is so amazing. And to be able to put it in the slow cooker and forget about it is even better!

I thought the cinnamon and the apple cider taste was to over powering, it ruined the stew.

I made this & it was very good only problem was it needed more meat in which I added more the next night I used another 1 1/2 lbs more as it was more veggies & gravy the 1st night, but was still very tasty.

This is the best stew I have ever had. I cooked this in a cast iron pot, and used fresh carrots, potatoes, string beans, onions, garlic, mushrooms and frozen peas. I omitted the water chestnuts. I browned a cut up chuck roast in oil and then the chopped onion, garlic and celery. I cooked this on top of the stove for 30 minutes. I then added sliced carrots, potatoes, string beans and frozen peas and put in the oven at 300 degrees for three hours. Loved it!

I used canned veggies, and A-1 instead of the steak seasoning and also left out the cinnamon. It was the best stew my husband said he has ever had!

This was VERY good. I used fresh red potatoes, carrots, celery, red pepper and onion for my veggies. I served it with some lightly buttered rice. A tasty, wholesome meal.

I used fresh veggies in this and used A-1 instead of steak seasoning. I also used a spiced apple cider. I am already planning on making this again!

Made this for the first time a few weeks ago and I must say I loved it. The only change I made was w/the steak seasoning. I used McCormick Spicy Montreal Steak Seasoning and it added a great flavor to the meat.

We didn't like the cinnamon flavour with our beef.

Our family enjoyed this stew. I did substitute fresh potatoes, celery, and canned carrots for the frozen veggies, and I left out the mushrooms and water chestnuts.

I made this for dinner tonight and the reviews were not good. We did not care for the taste of the cinnamon and the gravy was very strong in flavor. The vegetables were mushy from the long cooking. I would not make this again...

SmileI don't have all the ingredients yet, but I can't wait to make it as I know my family will love it.
