To chase away the winter chills, just throw together this hearty, flavorful soup and let the slow cooker do the work for you. I call the recipe "anything goes" because you can add or take out a variety of ingredients, and the soup still turns out absolutely delicious. Sheena Wellard, Nampa, Idaho

Loved it! Served it for a sick friend and my husband and I. She was allergic to anything chicken so I substituted 2 cans of vegetable broth for the water and bouillon. Everything else was pretty much the same except I added some fresh mushrooms.

left a change out - oops! I used low fat low sodium no msg chicken broth instead of water and bullion...yum!
I made a few substitutuins. I don't care much for cabbage, so left it out, added caraway seed and more veggies, used ground turkey sausage
