Anything Goes Sausage Soup Recipe

To chase away the winter chills, just throw together this hearty, flavorful soup and let the slow cooker do the work for you. I call the recipe "anything goes" because you can add or take out a variety of ingredients, and the soup still turns out absolutely delicious. —Sheena Wellard, Nampa, Idaho

The sausage seemed to get lost in this hearty soup. I will make again but adding more sausage.

WOW!! What a great recipe. Followed directions as written except zucchini (which I didn't have but will add next time) and I used some elk italian sausage which added a little zip and lowered fat content. Definitely added to meal rotations.

I had a ton of compliments on this recipe, and many people asked for the recipe. It is easy to throw together, and is good and tasty.

Super! Everyone loved it. Made according to recipe and will definitely make again. Even the non- soup lover, said it was very good and took left-overs.

Delicious! I used turkey smoked sausage (health reasons) and no zucchini (family reasons). I think ham would be great also with the potatoes, cabbage, and cheese soup. (p.s. Great with cheese crackers!)

Made this the other night and my family loved it! I swiched out the cream of mushroom for cream of chicken and the cabbage for a bag of baby spinach. So yummy.

I used pork brats and added Penzeys Northwoods Seasons. Turned out great! Perfect on a cold winters night.

It's a keeper. Used two cans of mushroom soup but everything else the same. Forgot to drain the sausage, so will do that next time. Used a larger crock pot than called for and veggies were a little overdone, so I won't cook as long next time. A great dish for cold Michigan winters.

Loved it! Served it for a sick friend and my husband and I. She was allergic to anything chicken so I substituted 2 cans of vegetable broth for the water and bouillon. Everything else was pretty much the same except I added some fresh mushrooms.

I made a few substitutuins. I don't care much for cabbage, so left it out, added caraway seed and more veggies, used ground turkey sausage
