Anise Butter Cookies

2 cups butter, softened 1-3/4 cups sugar, divided 4 teaspoons aniseed, crushed 2 eggs 1/4 cup orange juice concentrate 6 cups all-purpose flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, 1-1/2 cups sugar and aniseed. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in orange juice concentrate. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/4-in. thickness. Cut with a floured 2-1/2-in. round cookie cutter. Place 1 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Combine the cinnamon and remaining sugar; sprinkle over cookies. Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks.
Yield: 5 dozen.
