  • Prep: 5 min. Bake: 10 min./batch + cooling

Ingredients

  • 1 package (16 ounces) angel food cake mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons almond extract
  • 2 cups flaked coconut

Directions

  • In a large bowl, beat the cake mix, water and extract on low speed for 30 seconds. Scrape bowl; beat on medium speed for 1 minute. Fold in the coconut.
  • Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove paper with cookies to wire racks to cool. Yield: 5 dozen.

 I tried this for our ladies' tea.  It certainly was easy, but I didn't care for the taste.  Just my opinion.

No, don't prepare the mix as you would for a cake.  Instead, just add the dry cake mix straight from the box to the ingredients listed in the recipe.  I haven't tried this particular recipe (the Angel Macaroons), but my husband loved the ones I made using a similar recipe (Soft Macaroons) on this board.

I am confussed with recipe. Do I prepare the cake mix according to the box then add these ingredients or do I just use 1/2 cup of water for the whole thing. The recipe calls for 1 1/3 cup added to the megangue package.
