Almost Raspberry Jam Recipe
  • Prep: 10 min. Cook: 25 min. + chilling
  • Yield: 56 Servings

Ingredients

  • 5-1/2 cups chopped green tomatoes
  • 5-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 package (6 ounces) raspberry gelatin

Directions

  • In a large kettle, combine tomatoes and sugar. Simmer for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat; stir in gelatin until dissolved, about 1 minute. Pour into jars or plastic containers; cool, stirring occasionally to prevent floating fruit. Top with lids. Refrigerate up to 3 weeks. Yield: 7 cups.

Nutritional Facts 1 serving (2 each) equals 91 calories, trace fat (trace saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 9 mg sodium, 23 g carbohydrate, trace fiber, trace protein.

I did try the strawberry jello, it is not as good as the raspberry. So I am not going to make any more batches using the strawberry. I really love the raspberry. Will definitely stick to making it the original way.

This is a great way to use up green tomatoes. I love the taste. You don't even know you are eating green tomatoes. I am thinking about using strawberry gelatin instead of raspberry. I really like the raspberry but my youngest loves strawberry so I think I'm going to try it. LOVE THIS RECIPE!!!!! and it is SO EASY!!! :) :)
