For a change from the usual toasted tomato appetizer, try these baked bites. If you like, slice the baguette at an angle instead of making a straight cut.

The entire family loved this and are asking when I am going to make it again!

I made these as the appetizer for my dad's Father's Day dinner. They were a huge hit! Even my son who doesn't like any kind of nuts ate them. I will most certainly be making these again. (I had some of the mixture leftover, and we ate it as a dip with crackers. Fantastic!)

Made these for a family appetizer cook-off and they came in first place! I lightly brushed the bread with olive oil and popped them in a 400* oven to lightly toast. I made the topping ahead and placed it on just before placing back in the oven to melt. Absolutely a hit!

You can also substitute the sliced almonds with sliced green olives and they are delicious!

Oh my ... these look so good! But then, anything with bacon ... or cheese make my mouth water. I will be giving these a try soon!

So yummy! Try placing olive oil in a frying pan and instead of toasting the baguette slices in the oven first, place each of the slices in the hot oil for a few minutes, (be sure to flip and saute both side!) then continue on with the recipe as directed.

Excellant appetizer. I mixed the ingredients and refrigerated it and put it on the french bread several hours later when I needed them. It was great. My guests loved it.
