Ale Bread Recipe

Rating 5

For a tender white loaf that's a bit moister and denser than other breads, try this simple recipe shared by Jeannine Norder of Eaton Rapids, Michigan. It's equally good whether you use beer of ginger ale.

This bread is delicious. I just used some beer that was in my fridge, nothing special. It got attacked by my family and then I made another loaf to try measurements for a 2 pound loaf. Turned out perfect.

1 cup warm beer

1 cup warm water

2 3/4 T vegetable oil

4 T sugar

2 t salt

4 c bread flour

3 t active dry yeast

2 T ranch dressing dry mix

Very moist, flavorful bread! This will become a staple at my house!

Makes excellent rolls. I make this with selza water. I bake in the oven. We go through at least 2 batches a week.

This is our all-time favorite when made with ShinerBock Beer. I also do half white flour and half wheat.
