Greendale, WI – Every year, the world's largest food magazine, Taste of Home (www.tasteofhome.com), receives more than 90,000 recipe submissions—tens of thousands of them for its recipe contests. From ideas for regular features like "My Mom's Best Meal" and "Super Snacks & Appetizers" to individual contest requests for soups, cakes, or just a dish featuring an ingredient like lemon or fall garden vegetables, Taste of Home's national contests bring out the best in its readers and the passion they feel for the food they serve their families. Now for the first time you can find 645 of these best-of-the-best recipes in one book: The Taste of Home Winning Recipes Cookbook.

The Taste of Home Winning Recipes Cookbook is the collaborative essence of American blue-ribbon cuisine—every recipe a stand out for flavor and inventiveness. No one can resist these recipes for home-style dishes that will make any meal memorable. There are 17 scrumptious chapters for world-class appetizers, soups and entrees, sandwiches, breakfast, top-rated breads, lots of desserts and sweets, and more—from several variations on all-American favorites like chili, pot roast, and apple pie to Avocado Salsa, Grilled Chicken Pasta Salad, Steak on a Stick, Roasted Veggie Pizza, S'more Sandwich Cookies, and Shortbread Lemon Bars.

"Our readers take great pride in sharing their favorite recipes with us and this book is full of their no-fail family favorites," says Catherine Cassidy, Editor-in-Chief of Taste of Home. "We like to call the home cooks who win our contests our 'celebrities.' Their recipes get to be seen by millions of people in the magazine, on TV and radio and in newspapers, and on our website. This is the very essence of the cooking, caring, and sharing that says 'Taste of Home.'"

All the recipes in The Taste of Home Winning Recipes Cookbook were sorted, screened, and judged in national cooking contests throughout the year by the food editors and test kitchen professionals from Taste of Home. Each one has easy-to-follow instructions, with clear preparation and bake times and references for additional information, plus a color photo of every recipe to show you what each finished dish looks like. As with all Taste of Home recipes, the recipes here are shopped for in regular grocery stores and tested in the Taste of Home test kitchens to ensure success.

Like its predecessors, the million-plus best-selling Taste of Home Cookbook (2006) and the acclaimed Taste of Home Baking Book (2007), The Taste of Home Winning Recipes Cookbook captures the spirit of the American pass-it-over-the-fence tradition: A friendly exchange of timeless, trusted recipes, stories, and tips from home cooks across the country. Millions of home cooks trust Taste of Home and its books to bring only the best recipes to their table; it is like America's recipe box—only this time the cookbook comes with a blue ribbon.
