Dear Peggy: My husband is on a low-salt diet. When I go to the store, it's hard to find anything with low salt or no salt added. I would like to know if you have any recipes that would meet our needs? —H.E., Woodruff, Wisconsin

We do have recipes to meet your husband's low-sodium needs, and there are a few ways to find them. Taste of Home Healthy Cooking magazine uses a low-sodium icon next to any recipe that contains 140 mg sodium or less per serving. You can also visit www.tasteofhome.com and use our Recipe Finder to do an advanced search or browse recipes.

Here are two ways of searching for low-sodium recipes online:

  • From the Recipe Finder (located in top-right corner of this page), simply click on "Advanced Search" and then "Nutritional." At the "Nutrition Recipe Search" page, check the "low sodium" box under "Nutritional Category" for recipes that are 140 mg sodium or less per serving.
  • Or, if you are limited to even less than 140 mg of sodium, go to the "Per-Serving Search" tab on the same page and type in the exact amount you are limited to per serving, www.tasteofhome.com/Search/Recipes/Nutritional-Info.
