Bread for the Birds
Instead of draining the fat from browned meats and throwing it away, I use slices of stale bread to soak it up while it’s still in the pan. I let the bread dry a bit and then crumble it and feed it to the birds. It’s a quick way to get rid of grease and a treat for the birds. —Mary Webber, Omaha, Nebraska
