Rinsing Dried Beans

I used to rinse dried beans in a big colander, but it was a tedious job. I felt like I was wasting water and was never sure if I’d rinsed the beans enough. But my new trick is to simply place the beans in my plastic pitcher that has a plunger/mixer right in it. I completely submerge the beans in water and mix the beans around to get them good and clean. Then I can easily pour the water out using the strainer opening on the lid. Once I’ve rinsed the beans a time or two, I just pour them in my pot for soaking. Michelle L., Orem, Utah
