Fondant Tips
To prevent fondant from sticking to the rolling surface, sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar.
Fondant dries out quickly, so while working with it, always keep excess tightly wrapped in plastic wrap and stored in a resealable plastic bag.
To help make fondant adhere better to the cake, cover the cake with a thin coating of buttercream frosting before applying the fondant.
Use a pizza cutter to trim excess fondant from the bottom of the cake for a clean edge.
To store leftover fondant for future use, lightly coat the surface with shortening to prevent it form drying out. Wrap in plastic wrap and store in a resealable plastic bag.
