Come summer, life is just a bowl of berries. That's why Country Woman is sponsoring a "Berry Bonanza" recipe contest.

Entries may contain all types of summer berries—strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and more. Please do not send recipes for jams, jellies, preserves or anything canned. Instead, take your pick of…

Quick and Yeast Breads
If berries go in your baking, tempt us with blueberry streusel muffins, raspberry coffee cake or strawberry-pecan bread.

Breakfast
We want eye-openers, from strawberry-stuffed French toast to blueberry pancakes to triple-berry yogurt smoothies.

Desserts
Save the best for last in your fruity desserts, like strawberry pie, gooseberry cobbler, huckleberry crisp and more.

Salads
Toss in the salads you brighten with berries, whether strawberries in gelatin or chicken salad with blueberries.

Main Dish
Brilliant berries can add pizzazz to entrees like turkey with strawberry-mango salsa and pork medallions with blackberry sauce.

Winners will be published in the June/July 2009 issue of Country Woman.

Grand Prize: $500

2nd Prize: $300

3rd Prize: $200

Five Runners-up: Each will receive a $30 free merchandise certificate from Country Store.

Contest Rules

You may enter more than one recipe. If you email or mail your recipe, be sure to print the name of the contest as well as your full name, street address and phone number, including area code, with each entry. Be specific with measurements, directions and the size of cans, packages and pans so others can successfully make your recipe. Include a few words about the origin of your recipe. Share any compliments it's received, plus any variations you recommend. If any duplicates are received, the entries with the earliest postmarks will be considered.
